After research project

Now, I can feel free....

while I was doing the research, it was really challenge for me..

Because it was a new field for me... I never learned and heard before.

Just I had an interest about criminal things. Like dramas such as CSI, one of

my favorite TV series, Criminal mind, or sometimes 24.

As I searched information about my topic, there were difficulties to

find it because I didn't know that how and from where I could start.

And the topic's classfication was not precise. It was among criminology,

psychology, and psychiatry. Thus to find the information that what I really

wanted was difficult.

But I thing it's good to have this kind of experience for myself.

And what I regret about my presentation is I was not able to answer

quetions that my classmate asked me. I know just what I presented in

the presentation. So I'm sorry about that to my classmates also teachers.

Anyway, what is done is done. Based on this project, I hope that

I stepped forward little bit.

Lecture - Maurice Denis

Last Wednesday I attended a lecture 'Maurice Denis and the Painter-Photographer of his time' in the Museum. It was easiler then those previous lectures like scientific and linguistic things. When I entered the Museum, it was almost full (empy seats were hardly found). A curator (I guess) started to introduce the speaker named Elizabeth Easton. And the lecture began. The speaker talked loudly and clearly so it was not so difficult to understand. One thing that I had a hard time with is little french because the painter is french!! and some artistic terms. like "Nabi". I thought it was a name of painter. But actually it was a group of painter in Frence a 19 century.
Anyway I enjoyed the lecture a lot (Much better than previous ones!!!!!)
But it is going to be hard to make presentation because the speaker used
lots of paintings and pictures to explain and compare.

Discrimination

As I watched on the video, early education is very important to change their thinking in a short term. If they learned about discrimination when they are adults,
it is hardly changed. Because the stereotype is already formed in their mind.
And as observed on the video, the thinking that one is better than the other could cause a critical altitude for each others. They started to tease other group and even didn't talk.
My conclusion is that people cannot stand on other people because of skin color and other factors including disabilities, and early education plays important role to change people's altitude.

Population.. -Post discussion

1. What makes me feel optimistic about the future in terms of population is the growing technology, such as food, architect. Although it is not enough, we can product lots of food and stock it up for a long time. And we can build high buildings so that a problem of land shortage can be solved.

2. In the other hand, the growing population can lead severe environmental problems, such as polution (water, air, soil), forest devstation that are hard to recover.

Improving Academic Performance

1. Improving My Reading
To improve my reading, accoridng to the article, it's better to use SQ3R method which are Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review. But I think it's little bit hard to use the step. Because it will take a long time. If I read one short article by using the step, it takes over 20~30 mintues.I think it depends on the type of article.

2. Getting Out of Lectures
The article suggests that attending lectures is important thing to get a good grade according to research. But in my opinion, it also depends on students. Because, reflecting my experience in University, I always attend to lectures but all of them I could get a good mark.

Criminal Psychology - Psychiatrical Serial Killers

If you like do something interesting click

Criminal Mind Profile Quis
"Psychiatrical Serial Killers" This topic sounds like scary.
Actually I was suppose to do a research project about "Computer games & video games". But I thought it's kind of boring subject. So I changed my mind. Nowdays I'm watching "Criminal Mind". It is very fascinating. In the drama, the members of BAU(Behavior Analysis Unit)investigate the muder case and analize the behavior of killers. Most of them are serial killers. Because for just one case of murder, it's hard to analize the behavior of a murderer. And also there is another common thing that usually serial killers are male and have kinda mental problem(Psychopathy). This point makes me interesting.

However the problme is first, I don't have any knowledge of pshchology and second I don't know How I can classify subtitles and details. So I just have little ideas about my subject. Like definition of Serial killer, statistics about murder cases especially serial killers, how the serial killers can be classified, how many serial skillers have a mental problem(s). What kinda of mental problem they have.. etc.

I have some information about it, but not much. It's difficult find data or reference because the field of this subject is among criminology, psychology, psychiatry.

Pussycat Dolls - Stickwitu

The song 'Stickwitu' is in the PussycatDoll's first album "Pussycat Dolls"

released in Sep 20, 2005.

This album contains many famous songs such as 'Don't Cha', 'Button'....

Most of them were so popular in many Clubs (HaHaHa)

The rhythm of the song 'Stickwitu' is very smooth and comfortable

so I recommand this song to people who want to sleep

(Just kidding) who want to be relaxed.

Lecture : Male-Female Communication Patterns presented by Scott

Today's lecture was really interesting, wasn't it??!!

Scott started the lecture with a joke... (It was good Scott!~)

As he said, when people speak they use some kind of skills.

And these skills are influenced by many factors such as

speaker's culture, gender, situation, and so on.

He gave us many examples for better understanding about the content.

Most of them I understood but there's one part that

I couldn't catch well which is about

'TV Devates and Achieving Expert status'

As I understood, in the TV debates usually people who talk more

are not experts. They speak more and lead the show without much knowledge

about the topic. I cannot get the point what this part wants

to tell about.

Anyway the LECTURE was easy to understand but there were too much

detail about the examples. Like someone said like this,

and someone said like that.

Moreover the way to present was good which used a ppt.

(I prefer PPT)

What I really want to tell to Scott at the last

THANK YOU SCOTTFOR TODAY'S LECTURE!!!

Let's comment on the Scott's blog (click below link)

Let's go! go! go!

Happiness?

Happiness..

When people ask me "What do you think about Happiness?"

Well, everytime I hesitate to answer the question.

If I have million dollar, I can say "I'm happy?" I don't think so.

Because, the happiness can not be measured by money.

But, sometimes it could be.

For example, if I really want to buy a car, but I don't have any money.

But my boyfriend gave me the money as birthday present, so I am able to buy the car.

In this case, I can say "I'm happy." of course.

However, if my boyfriend commited a crime to get the money for me and after that

sent to a jail. Can I say "Even my boyfriend is sent to a prison, I have the car

that I really want to have. So now I am happy."

"No way"

Like this, it is almost impossible to give a definition of "Happiness".

If you wanna read quotations about happiness

My public lecture experience

I went to McGill university to attend the lecture about the universe.

The lecture was a debate form, so there were 4 people who had the right to speak.

I tried to understand what they were saying. Yet I could understand less than 10 % .

It was so hard for me to catch the content of the lecture because they were talking about

universe in specific terms. Next time, it's better to attend easier one such as social things not

scientific topics. But it is going to be little bit boring for me.
